wednesday the 6th

Wednesday was block day. so we headed outside and continued cleaning up our square. we had to move some fallen sand bags out of the way. i terriyad (sp?) most of the time, but also carried a few buckets. On break, we had popsicles and watched the  seniors prank the teachers, which was entertaining. we wasted a lot of time doing that... but got a lot done as well.

tuesday 5th

On tuesday, we went outside and started to clean up the collapsed square. We picked then (terriyad?) and moved a lot of dirt and even expanded the bulk by like a FOOT, because SOMEONE picked to far in. I don't think we found any artifacts that day.

monday 4th of may

monday, we went outside to check out the dig site and see how much damage was done from the rain. Our old square collapsed which was a big disappointment. also, we looked around for some uncovered artifacts that could be picked up. we found a few pottery pieces.

monday 27th, tuesday 28th, wednesday 29th, friday 1st

This whole week we have stayed inside because it is way too wet outside. Monday was lab day. My team worked on some pottery fragments. i cleaned a few pieces and tried to put a vase together, but it had a few holes because some pieces were missing. Tuesday we stayed in class and worked on our final projects. I tried to find pictures that looked exactly like the cycladic statue that i am researching. Wednesday i researched the cyclades and also studied the blue greek vase and tried to get a picture that looks like it online. Friday i continued working on my two artifacts.

wednesday 22th

(I started on Wednesday because Monday i was absent and Tuesday i was on a field trip)
Wednesday we had block and the whole time my team, bravo team, worked on our new square C3 We had already dug real deep in one tiny section. We had also dug the section next to it and were trying to level out the whole square. We moved large amounts of dirt and finally leveled the whole square, which is pretty big. Then we straightened out the bulk. Not much was found, except for the missing grinder for the grinding stone previously found.

friday the 27th

on friday, we stayed in class and talked about our powerpoint presentations that we have to do. Mr. Thames showed us a few examples of presentations. we have to choose one or two artifacts, describe them, and research everything that could be known about them. we then wrote down all the artifacts that have been found and everyone chose what they wanted. i am going to do my presentation about the cyclodic Greek figure and the axe head.
on wednesday, we had block but stayed inside because of the rain. first block we assembled the bones of the skeletons and tried to put them together. I put the baby's legs together while others put other bones on, finished cleaning the fertility statue, and cleaned the skull's teeth.  on the break, we got shakes :) second block we continued putting the skeletons together and tried to put a few pottery pieces together.
